Maizy’s drink of choice…

Since I’m busy elsewhere during MoFo month, I asked some special friends to help out over here. Today’s guest post comes from Maizy in the windy city, and she states her preference for public hydration….

Guest Post: Maizy

HOLY CUTENESS.

When I am out in the city with my people, sometimes it is hot and I want a drink of water! Human people think that they’re really kind to me by putting out a public dog water dish on the street, but would you people drink out of a public cup!? Those water dishes are all full of dog spit and grass and I know because I sniff them all to be sure. I will not drink out of those – no way! Instead, I ask Nicole and Dan to take me to a people drinking fountain. The proper way to use a people drinking fountain is to stand up on your hinders (your person can help support you so you don’t slip), wrap one side of your jowel around the spout, and then lap lap lap to your heart’s content! It is very refreshing even if people don’t want to use the drinking fountain anymore after you (their loss, it’s so fun!). I only wish that my people would install one of those fancy drinking fountains at home and I could drink like this every day!!

Thanks Maizy, keep living it up!

DIsgusting. I hope you wiped that fountain off after your dog licked all on it. The next person to drink out of it is going to have your dog’s slobber in their mouth. Which, I’m not sure is super appetizing.

I like dogs, but bring a bowl and fill it up if you’re so opposed to using communal bowls.

    Gross Gross Gross

not everyone wants to french kiss someone else’s dog

I would never french kiss a dog.. but I would drink out of a fountain after one no problem.

Sorry that you are so upset about a dog using the drinking fountain, Meghan! Unfortunately, I’m pretty sure that dog spit is one of the less gross things that you are likely find on the spigot of a public water fountain. If you’re worried, you should probably wipe before use.

Don’t think it’s gross at all. Wouldn’t ever put my lips on a public water fountain anyway so I’d have no problem sharing it with Maizy-girl.

I’m glad you dont have a problem drinking from a fountain that someone else, much less a dog, has licked.

If i saw anyone licking a fountain, including a human or a dog, i would definately say something. Those fountains are for everyone, not just dog owners and people who like to kiss dogs. dog owners need to be responsible and bring their own bowls.

This is the same as dog owners who dont pick up after their dogs’ poo because someone else left a poo. It gives all dog owners a bad name when really it is just the irresponsible ones.

Once again, I guess we just have a difference of opinion, Meghan. If dog owners should bring bowls, then perhaps humans should also bring cups and that way there’s no risk of anyone making unwanted contact with the fountain at all. Not to mention the people who spit or use the fountain otherwise. It’s too bad that a fun, lighthearted post was so upsetting to you.

I would share a fountain with Maizy, anytime, any day! I also really respect her passion here. It’s beautiful.
